This new series of #OldPeoplesHomeAU streams from tomorrow night (Tuesday) at 8.30. When I was recording the narration for it I was regularly overcome by tears and laughter. This batch of participants is SO wonderful.

If you have a spare bit of time, rack this new podcast up ... and me talking about her extraordinary debut novel The Keepers. She is a quicksilver conversationalist to boot.

Crabb is once again shocked by a significant gap in Sales’ general knowledge, this time about the royal family. chat10looks3.com/podcast/ep190 [ID: Title card reads: Episode 190 Angry Harry. A cartoon Sales sits on a stack of books she's presumably about to bin, while Annabel looks on]

In a political system of talking points and mass-produced party MPs, voters have elected women who are not afraid to speak their mind. Analysis piece by me about tonight’s very candid behind the scenes @4corners with the new force in Australian politics. abc.net.au/news/2022-08-1

Any time is a good time to hear from - the prodigiously talented and courageous Russian journalist. But right now? Amazing opportunity. Set reading: Masha's extraordinary Putin biography The Man Without A Face.

Yep I'm still only now recovering. Very powerful to hear about the clinical and family perspectives ... thank you to #ANZCHOG2022, it was an honour to assist in this session today

Hard to describe how impactful and insightful the #ANZCHOG2022 panel discussion was on Ava's journey and decision making in the age of clinical trials. Thank you to the whole panel for sharing their lived experiences and for being so open @ProfDavidZieg @justinnbaker

Yes indeed. Not only lives saved but also environmental disaster... I think this has been under-reported. Understandable given everything else but honestly if this had gone as pear-shaped as it really should have, absent these efforts... WHOA.

We owe them so much. They saved lives and prevented a disaster whilst putting themselves at risk.

Have you read about this??? Honestly it is such a gripping and extraordinary tale. I'm not good on boats but the people who are really confound me with their bravery: The three-man crew that stopped a catastrophe on Sydney’s shores

He had a perceptive but non-judgmental eye. Full of forgiveness for human frailty. It made him a remarkable human and artist. Read the Grand Days trilogy if you haven't already. It's a treat. Vale Frank. I've never met or read anyone quite like you and won't again. ❤️

This man was detained for a long time, but on release was straight into working for others with deep generosity and no bitterness... a truly extraordinary example for us all, I reckon. A good man, and an asset for the nation in the way refugees so often are.

After eight years of detention and a long journey, tonight I finally met the new Australian Prime Minister, @AlboMP, face to face. I really hope that he chooses to give me and my friends permanent safety and security in this beautiful country that has become home.

This was a good night and full of surprises. Also the most female-dominated gathering the old House of Reps chamber has seen, I reckon. #AustWomenChangemakers

Surrounded by strong women 💪 at the opening of the Changemakers exhibit. Celebrating the activists, icons and allies behind 120 years of women’s rights in Australia, from Edna Ryan’s campaign for equal pay in 1974 to Nyadol Nyuon’s advocacy for refugee women today.

What Leigh Sales said... and what the headline says. OMG. It's great interview by and doesn't need the old headline eggbeater and yet ... there it is, influencing all the followups. 🙄

I reckon a lot of things shat professional women off in the last few years but one of them, for me, is this weird sexualised crap that seems to spring so readily to hand. If you can't articulate a criticism in a grown-up way, why are you worth any attention at all?

Buy dem votes. The Lib way. Good to see Dom getting in front of the "we have a women problem " that cost the libs the federal election. Am I being cynical? Does Annabel Crabb start touching her hair everytime she's within 10 feet of a moderate liberal?

This Sunday! A great panel sharing stories about the power of refugees, including my incredible friend Farhat Kohistani who came to Australia with nothing from Kabul last year and already is a FORCE. You can stream it if you're not near Cabramatta!

What the NSW Government has announced this week on parental leave and early childhood education is quite remarkable. For a long time this stuff has been such a clear and obvious way to build participation and yet govts have hesitated to lead. V good to see.
