This week, Passover, Ramadan and Easter overlap, which only happens three times each century.
This rare and special occasion is a time for all communities to come together and make a common call for compassion, inclusion and peace.
Hunter Biden would have to serve on the Burisma board for at least 5,000 years to earn the money Middle East governments have given to Kushner’s firm since Trump took office. Kushner of course had an official White House position, and worked on ME policy.
"Right now even the most retiring librarian will tell you that the ecosystem for books is out of balance, and CDL is one small attempt to level the playing field between those who produce and distribute books and those who steward them for many years after publication."
For The Atlantic, I wrote about last week’s ruling in an important case that may shape the future of reading—and likely diminish the role of libraries in that future https://theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2023/03/publishers-librarians-ebooks-hachette-v-internet-archive/673560/…
for helping us launch this By The People transcribing campaign. Congressman Clyburn is a passionate history lover and most importantly he understands the importance of collecting and preserving our mutual history.
We are launching a nationwide crowdsourcing campaign through the Library’s By the People program. These names may have originated in SC but its reach runs broader and deeper.
We owe it to these 3,740 people that they be recognized, remembered and their stories told.
For the first we rolled out this 54 foot long petition from 1865. It was signed by 3,740 African Americans from South Carolina asking Congress “equal rights before the law" months after the Civil War.
We need the public's help transcribing this historic treasure.

At the Internet Archive, this is how we digitize a book.
We never destroy a book by cutting off its binding.
Instead, we digitize it the hard way--one page at a time.

"Adobe is putting one big twist on its generative AI tools: it’s one of the few companies willing to discuss what data its models are trained on...everything fed to its models is either out of copyright, licensed for training, or in the Adobe Stock library"
Yay!
Adobe has created its own AI image generator, and says it was only trained on images that are licensed, out of copyright, or in its own Adobe Stock library https://theverge.com/2023/3/21/23648315/adobe-firefly-ai-image-generator-announced…
We are running out of time—but there is still hope. We must uphold our climate commitments, come to an immediate international agreement on phasing out fossil fuels, and secure a Green New Deal. We cannot afford to wait. For our people and our planet. We must act now.
Breaking News: Earth is likely to cross a critical global warming threshold within the next decade unless drastic changes are made, a major UN report said.
