I've really enjoyed reading and writing (though mostly privately) about the Indian Startup Ecosystem this year so decided to bite the bullet and start my own substack! 🔥🔥🔥 First piece is dropping on 1/12 and it's a retro about the Ecosystem in 2019.

~ some news ~ This has been long overdue (just like Kanye's albums which are always delayed but also 🔥🔥🔥) but finally wrote the first piece for my newsletter. It's about the history of ISAs, upskilling and why ISAs _might_ not be the answer in India

Also went through Yes Bank () & ICICI () API Docs (had to register an account to view 😞) but was pleasantly surprised that they were not _terribly_ hard to follow. Desi banking fintech is 🔥🔥🔥

Had been wondering about why no one has started a Banking as a Service API co in India yet (i.e Synapse, or Galileo in the US). Turns out _some_ private Indian banks have APIs that neo-banks use: - NiYO (Yes Bank, DCB): Banking for blue-collar - Open (ICICI): SME banking

Just for a comparison, the US has about ~20M enrolled students, with ~1M being from outside the country (~5%).

So why exactly does India need an exam for foreign citizens when they barely represent ~0.2% of the total enrollment in higher education? 🤷🏽‍♂️ I would assume you could do a bunch more with that money allocation for the rest of the 99.8%

So hecking excited for this! Came across Haus last May on and been a happy customer since June. Every single time I bring a bottle to a party, everyone who tries it absolutely loves it (Even brought home 🇮🇳 a bottle to my parents who loved it).
