    It is the staff who provide the care aged-care residents need! Staff ratios & skills mix are crucial. Otherwise you get the situation highlighted on when you sack 11 ENs. We need aged care ratios law, now.

    More terrible cost-cutting behaviour from an aged care company whose owners are on the BRW rich-list. If you have enough nurses on the floor to support AINs, you can provide proper clinical care to the residents & keep them out of hospital.

    Billion-dollar aged care company Regis has reputation for dumping its residents in hospital emergency departments for care normally provided in the nursing home. Doctors at Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane say the flow of admissions is "extraordinary."
