this post is like the first time anyone has made me interested in watching The Avengers tbh

Lol, I mean so many of our media products glorify aggressive forms of masculinity - it's just the sheer number of superhero men in one movie that makes it hard to miss. Also, fwiw I mostly enjoyed the film.
-
Depicting is the same as glorifying? I don't understand how was it glorified, I can't seem to be able to grasp that.

Interesting. Can we expect to hear further elaboration in a future video?
-
Probably not, I'm so slammed with other projects right now, and I wasn't on the podcast when we talked about the movie, sorry ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but I'm sure loads have been written about this from other feminist scholars.

Think toxic masculinity

Or it's a movie based off comic books and people thought they were fun to write and read. Not everything needs to be some social engineering experiment for you to wedge your marxist ideals into.
-
Comic books constructed by humans in relation to society. You cannot claim there is a plotline that mirrors society and then not allow for it to be seen through a critical lens.

You're right, nothing is as it seems, everything has an oppressive subtext to it!pic.twitter.com/iBris1yoKd

If only you were actually getting it.
-
It's not about getting what you're saying, its that what you're saying is nebulous bullshit designed to play victim from everything. A man cut the grass, therefore the lines in the lawn are a symbol of the patriarchy. It's idiotic.
-
You are hopeless. Good day, dude.
-
Yeah, but it's night time now, unless of course you're going to claim that's also a social construct.

If you take off your Feminist goggles, the movie is fun. Fun and Feminism don't mix.
-
She literally said she liked the film. Why is that so hard to understand?
