Definitely feeling this. I felt more emotional and more empowered by the representation of the female warriors in #BlackPanther then I did of the warriors in Wonder Woman.https://twitter.com/eveewing/status/964361589611573248 …

You agreed with someone who made it a competition, saying "In terms of female characters the women in Black Panther made Wonder Woman look like Betty Crocker." If you wanted to express your personal empowerment from BP, why quote that person and why mention WW at all?
-
Comparing methods of representation is fun and interesting! Its not a method of pitting the two movies against each other, its just her voicing an interesting take. Also Wonder Woman sucks lol
-
It's not fun if done carelessly. If one limits one's assessment to one's personal reaction, fine. But quoting/agreeing w/ someone who compares is pitting films against each other. Agree to disagree re:WW. I appreciated it, especially its female lead and portrayal of a matriarchy.
-
Obviously its just limited to her personal reaction, she was just singling out another personal reaction that she agreed with. One doesn't need to spend 20 minutes clarifying that their reaction is just their opinion in order for it to be understood to be an opinion.
-
The other tweet assessed the films more generally, as film reviews do; it didn't frame it as personal/use personal pronouns. It compared BP women to either just Diana or the whole WW film. Also the "Betty Crocker" dig was hyperbolic/unnecessary. Anita should quote more carefully.
-
Agree to disagree, because this is honestly one of the most moronic takes about some random tweet I've seen in awhile. I don't wanna spend my day arguing online.
-
Thanks for the dig before saying you'll agree to disagree. You can't even have a difference of opinion without getting nasty. That being the case, I'm even more pleased to move on from you and from this conversation.
-
Admittedly it was kinda nasty, I felt bad immediately after posting.

how do you call yourself a feminist then pit women against women and ask why people are getting upset??pic.twitter.com/lBT2PXxOeP

Anita is fucking saying she preferred the representation of women warriors in Black Panther than in WW. What's the fucking problem with that??

you are everything that is wrong with the world, judging people based on skin color, no wonder racism isnt dying because you are there to remind us, shame on you
-
Ignoring skin colour doesn't make racism go away. Just stop.
-
It does if you’re blind.
-
Still no.

It’s a superhero movie. It’s not real. You shouldn’t be getting emotional over something that isn’t real. Just like the gender wage gap.

it's almost like sensitive intelligent people should be able to freely be critical of the media they love without getting trolled by shitwit garbage people

It’s almost like sensible people should be able to be critical of those who criticize others for their criticisms.
