For a man to see his colleagues come out in droves about their experiences of abuse within their industry and have anything to say other then, "I'm so sorry, this is intolerable, how can I help improve this industry so this doesn't happen to anyone else," is just horrifying.

so what happens if a woman expresses similar sentiments as these Hollywood dude arguments you're diluting into one sentence
-
Same thing.
-
that they should shut the hell up? that's productive.
-
That denying a problem worth solving exists when confronted by mountains of evidence from people you know and see everyday who are affected by it is disgusting. That I personally would like you to shut up if that were the case.
-
If you aren't swayed by the staggering statistics of how common assault, harassment, and rape really are and you aren't moved by the realization that many if not all of the people you work with have been affected by it you don't have anything to contribute to the conversation.
-
oh cool, thanks for putting words in my mouth without even knowing my position. again, productive.
-
I'm not speaking about your position, idk what it is but based on your first tweet I'm sure it's very enlightened. I'm speaking about why what Anita said is valid and why it's reasonable for someone to not want to hear from those people.
-
i'm open to hearing all positions, even those i disagree with. i may learn something. i might not, but that's the risk you take when opening up a dialogue. maybe they can explain their position and you can at least see where they're coming from. to dismiss seems counterproductive

#MeToo
has gone a bit too far though & if you deny this then you’re not facing reality. Sure both sides have their own faults. So my take at all costs “Innocent until Proven Guilty”

Rape culture is not a thing. There are individuals who do messed up things and should be held accountable for their actions.

@anitasarkeesian Yet you turn a blind eye to the rape culture that's happening in Countries where Sharia law is dominant. All what the MeToo movement is, is nothing more than a misandrist witch-hunt.@anitasarkeesian stop playing identity politics! YOU RUINED FEMINISM! -

I’ll show you a perfect example of an asshole, someone whose got no substance or anything useful to add to the topic, so they just go to every comment they disagree with and do this -pic.twitter.com/flJ1IbxYW6
