The fact that we don't have universal healthcare in this country is a goddamn travesty. It is so utterly outrageous that I can barely even wrap my head around it.

Have you actually looked at the kind of care that universal healthcare provides to people in these other countries? It is awful. People have to wait years to see doctors months to get treatment for simple things years for more serious seriously look at canda's system.

Camranz, that simply isn’t true. Their lines are no worse than ours, and they have the two added benefits of: A) Covering everyone B) Not having anyone go bankrupt due to insanely high medical bills.

The wait times in canada are terrible to the point that parents are forced into the private sector for their children because they are not getting care fast enough or an old woman losing both her legs because she could not be seen in time both true stories btw.

Which is somehow worse than being unable to afford any medical care at all and facing utter financial ruin if you need to be hospitalized? Nobody’s saying other systems are perfect, it’s just that the US one is demonstrably horrible for anyone but the rich.

And you want to bring that terrible flawed system that is going bankrupt and is taxing the canadian people at rediculous rates here? Why?

What planet do you live on? As a Canadian, I never had to pay half my check. As an American, my surgeries almost bankrupted me despite my insurance and my premiums were a stupid amount off each check as well. All in all Canada saved me money in the long run.

And I had excellent care in Canada 100% of the time. In the US, I would have likely died twice bc I couldn't see a doctor as often as needed. Preventative medicine saved my life.

You were exclusively on the governement healthcare system in canada? If you were on our public healthcare system i would agree you would have gotten worse care but when compared to our private sector that isnt the case.

I had OHIP in Canada and was my insurance was through United Health in the US. Canada was superior in outcomes, financially, wait times - basically superior in every way possible. I had complete control over my care in Canada. There was no in/ out of network BS for example.

Rich ones, and only to skip a lineup for non-essential care that occasionally exists because we ALLOW EVERYONE TO BE IN LINE. Emergency and critical care is immediate and excellent.

Why don’t you circle back to this when you find an edgy libertarian video that explains how people who cannot work due to disability can get health care without socialism. That or just admit that you don’t give a fuck.

So it's ok to extort people for money if you're disabled? Pretty sure that's not how morality works. Is that what you do to help your disabled friends? You ask the govt to point guns at people and take their money?

Have a good think about claiming moral high ground on the basis that disabled people should fend for themselves. I don’t have time for the morally corrupt.

I'm all for helping the poor and disabled, I just prefer charity as the way to deal with, whereas socialists seem to prefer theft and confuse it for charity.

The "taxation is theft" crowd is often fine with leaving the poor and disabled to fend for themselves and beg for charity. Libertarian ideology works great for the privileged.
