Why do you let bigotry flourish while punishing people who speak out against it?
-
-
-
Simple: free speech means having the ability to offend, cuz offense is relative.
-
Harassment is not free speech.
-
Correct, but mere bigotry and offense likewise is not harassment.
-
Many on twitter here have gotten strikes or out right banned for being anti-fascist. Yet, when they’re the targets of rape & death threats twitter over & over looks the other way. You really didn’t need to come “well actually” me.
-
Sounds like you and I are in complete agreement on this issue.

Either banning Nazis, or an "edit" button. We could compromise by being able to edit the tweets of Nazis.
-
Edit, but you lose all the likes and retweets, or else it just perpetuates trolling. (Post something, get attention, change it to something nasty)
-
Strictly limiting the number of characters that you can change would help with that. It's not troll-proof, of course, but would push things in a direction that kept it useful primarily for fixing typos.
-
You'd have to prevent people from editing a (small number of characters) in shortened URLs, which can be used to trojan-horse unpleasant content. But yes, with the right safeguards, Tweet-editing is a viable feature.
-
Edit history visible is a must, in that case.
-
Definitely.

I'd ask why only paid advertisers allowed to make videos embedded in tweets accessible to deaf and hard of hearing via Closed Captions? That feature should be available to all twitter users so everyone can make embedded twitter videos accessible to deaf users.

Why do you think "free speech" and "hate speech" are synonymous?

because the next time i get a viral tweet, after a thousand retweets i'd edit it to say "retweet if you think poo poo comes out the pee pee hole" c'mon man, it's like you've never used the internet before.
-
2 minute timer on the edit. Simple. Allows people to read the tweet after they send it and edit any small typos
-
See, like this one, after I re-read it I realized it was too vague. 2 minute timer from the creation of the tweet, not 2 minutes after hitting the edit button
