That was precisely my thought process.
Did you know this has been attempted over 200 times in our states's history? (This is the closest it has ever gotten)
https://youtu.be/uPMnf33GUIU Where’s My Apache Helicopter Simulator Anita??? I’m not represented!!!! @mundanematt lmao.
I honestly can't imagine an aggressive look on @carolynmichelle
I hope it dosen't pass.
I honestly don’t understand how anyone benefits from this. At the national level, representation in the house stays roughly constant while the Senate likely goes from 2 Democrats to 4 Democrats and 2 Republicans - a net loss for the Republicans. 1/
Meanwhile, the overall government costs go up drastically on an on-going basis as the same tax base is divided in three while each third is expected to pay its own governor, assembly, etc. and the CalState and UC systems are potentially divided up into three... 2/
... reducing the in-state choices for schools. That’s without taking into account the massive one-time costs of establishing and shifting the new bureaucracies and constructing a minimum of two new structures to house state governments. The waste is in the billions. Who benefits?
I don't think this is going to pass. Bear in mind how many times Texas has tried to secede from the United States.
Boo... You could split CA into 7 blue states that all have access to the ocean. Be more ambitious. Yes, I know that they tried 6 states and nobody took. This should be a long run project.
