This is well-considered but he’s essentially saying that he believes his risk is low and everyone should make their own choice—which is true but is also a big reason we’re stuck.

Intelligent or not, he’s simply saying ‘the risks seem to outweigh the gains’—which may or may be true to for him but even if true, point the issue right back to ‘my body, my choice.’ Which is, again, technically true but doesn’t really help anyone or anything.
