A bris is a ritual circumcision, done to symbolize Abraham's circumcision. It is not a medically necessary procedure, it is rarely performed by a doctor. Mohels are not doing it for hygiene. Millions of men live uncircumcised, it ain't about infection. Maybe you go back, eh?

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamapediatrics/fullarticle/1352167 … FACTS. Also, a fact? You have 0 empathy or compassion since it is likely one of this babies parents or relatives were murdered by an anti-semite. Good to know where your values are. Plenty of reasons for the procedure for both men & women

A BRIS IS NOT A MEDICAL PROCEDURE. I addressed that. Circumcision is medically necessary. A doctor does those. It is the difference between a judge marrying someone at City Hall vs a minister in a church. The bris is religious. Done out of tradition. As a ceremony. FFS.
-
But most circumcisions are done not out of medical necessity. The majority are ritual out of antiquated bodyshaming aesthetics.
-
Beyondthebris. I have a problem with one specific ritual. It IS barbaric. It's mutilation out of the Bronze Age. That's not antisemitism. But sure, commentblock, you cowards. You need to believe that. http://www.beyondthebris.com/p/why-question-circumcision.html?m=1 …

It helps prevent infection and was most definitely part of the reason. So congrats on reading something from Wikipedia and thinking you are an expert when all you are is a typical anti-Semite.
-
You are so ignorant. I know several Jewish and non-Jewish men who have gone forward with foreskin stretching to undo what was done against their will. Calling me anti-Semitic because I criticized the morality of a ritual that if done to little girls would be condemned is gross.
-
Well, yes, because you brought it up to defend the massacre of Jewish people.

https://twitter.com/VCSParent/status/1056271788735455232?s=20 … My knowledge of what a bris is was addressed, I countered. Then you came in, white knighting. Don't be obtuse. I defended nothing of the sort.

I was the first one to ask you, so exactly how did I come in "white knighting" (learn to spell) You really are a piece of work. An anti semitic one at that.
-
I love how me calling out how if this ritual was in the Qur'an instead of the Tanakh it would be condemned globally makes me an antisemite. You are a hypocrite. This ritual needs to be outlawed. Medically necessary is fine, when you reach 13 and choose it, fine. Babies? No.
-
Again, you brought up money and Jews. That wasn’t a coincidence.
-
Initially? No. It was a comment about capitalizing on tragedy with a GoFundMe. That's what I implied by financial benefit, that's what I intended. Then got questioned on my knowledge of what a bris is. I answered. The question is why you jump right into anti-Semitism every time.

And because I can predict people picking my wording apart: yes, many doctors perform circumcisions. Not at a bris, in the ceremony it is rarely done by a doctor as a doctor, a mohel with an MD is acting as a mohel and not a doctor in this act.
