By the way, compliance concerns like GDPR (and similar data regulations coming in the U.S.) are *much* easier to deal with when you design in anticipation of protecting users. One key scenario we plan for: kids in schools with no email addresses, whom we want to keep anonymous.

I like this Anil. We are building a new account management system for our security products, so exploring... What do you use to nudge new users/customers. What is the downside of not having their email address and what do you use as alternative for marketing / product updates?

Oh wait, you do have email addresses as you need that to send a link. What you want to do is remove the storage of passwords?
