The Guatemalan Migration Institute and the Office of International Migration Affairs tell
@CBSNews that they only have 8 employees at the asylum agency responsible to handle asylum applications, per@angelcanalesShow this thread
As of July 15th, Guatemala has received 226 asylum applications. 0 have been approved. In 2018 out of 262, only 20 were approved. El Salvador leads with applications in the past 3 years.pic.twitter.com/Fkl1GA3oED
