i fucking dare the metal community to stop focusing on darkness & write some devastatingly heavy downtuned absolutely brutal albums about what brings them joy & inspires them to love & what makes them feel loved. how has heavy music been around this long for this to be that rare.
plus, if i had effectively said what i really wanted to say about the posi deathcore tweet, there would've been much less interaction. because then people wouldn't be suggesting stryper songs lol
something unfortunate about a take of yours getting a lot of traction on the internet is that the amount of people who misunderstand what you are trying to say goes way up. the ability to edit a tweet is probably a bad idea but sometimes it would really come in handy
i'm really scared i'm gonna wake up to 500 humiliating angry quote tweets trying to cancel me because one or two blue skies & sunshine deathcore bands exist, & then another 500 comments with links to bands that aren't that heavy π
i have been misunderstood & that is totally my fault. i should've mentioned i was referring to death metal, deathcore, stuff like that. the HEAVY HEAVY HEAVY crushing stuff. like DISTANT, CARNIFEX, INFANT ANNIHILATOR, etc. not tool lol
reign in blood = rainbow blood
into the hellfire = into the rainbow
master of puppets = master of rainbows
the virus of life = the rainbow of life
rust in peace = rainbow of peace
see it's not hard lol
i'm a huge advocate of honesty in music. if someone is feeling tormented & angry & dealing with vengeful feelings & part of their therapy is pouring it into a conceptual metal album, that's fine. but this is the default for metal & i am so done with it.
this is probably one of the single most annoying things about existence in general. death & destruction & torment isn't cool anymore. not to me. like, seriously, its time to grow up.

many ppl here think it's homophobic while many disagree. i'm starting to become fascinated with exploring this, & how polarizing discussing it can be. it's just one of those words that has a lot of meanings, which is difficult for some to accept

i appreciate everyone who kindly chimed in to share their view about something i've been pondering. the majority don't think of it as homophobic while some do. good to know! however i stand corrected- most of those who feel angry or annoyed w/ this question are queer or trans!
i've always perceived the term "butthurt" as having homophobic roots. when i research it, i find many gay men saying it is, & straight people giving meaning to the term by reactionarily violently defending it & ridiculing those who contemplate its potential homophobic origin
from what i've gathered, when i was much younger & first hearing the phrase, it was referring to someone's ass being hurt from anal sex with a man with a penis. essentially equating the upset with "gay sex" or even sexual assault. just my experience. not policing, just thinking

i love to present their art in my way, transform it, squeeze beauty out of it, reframe it w/o removing original meaning. even if i'm just syphoning a half measure of a transition & looping it for 5 min, it was a piece of THEIR art that caught my heart's ear in the first place
when people compliment my mindspring memories songs i will often spill the beans on the sample & ruin the magic for them π but i firmly believe that the artists i'm sampling deserve just as much credit, if not more. their art is the reason why i make mine.
