    Methinks a better word than ‘awkward’ would be ‘stitch-up’! In my 5+ years on Bromley Council I have never seen a scrutiny committee at 9am...

    We've just found that the "call-in" meeting will be at the awkward time of 9am Friday 20 Dec at Bromley Civic Centre, where Council will either a) take no further action or b) refer decision back to Exec giving reasons why it should be reconsidered

    Absolutely staggering that there were no Chislehurst ward councillors at Full Council Meeting last night - the only ward not represented. What does this say for the commitment of our elected representatives?

    At least this year they didn’t try arguing that young people leaving care are exactly the same as their own children & have to learn to budget in the same way!

    Just finished council meeting, where and I made ’s annual attempt to support our care leavers by exempting them from council tax. Many councils already do this, but Bromley’s Conservatives yet again voted against our proposal 😞

    Public ownership is completely normal in many countries. It’s about organising society on the basis of need rather than profit. Why should human necessities, health, public services & transport be simply an opportunity to make profit?

    This is excruciating to watch - but you really should!This man wants to be PM - yet can’t accept that he was part of the government that brought these dire cuts about. And as to that patronising arrogant and conceited smirk... !!!

    If this had been a Monty Python sketch, we would have laughed...What it reveals is that Johnson wants a UK that is only for elites (and presumably Etonians). He insults all EU nationals working here now in our hospitals, care homes, hospitality, construction etc

    Real issues that real people face... virtually all due to Tory austerity - the policy they have done a whopping U turn on to try to win votes now we have an election. It’s an old slogan, but you just can’t trust the Tories.

    Next Thursday we choose between Corbyn and Johnson. But we are also choosing our local MPs. Labour’s candidates in Bromley are all councillors; they all have strong track records of delivering for local families and communities. Chance for an end to austerity & a here
