    It's wild to go back and watch The Player and realize that Habeas Corpus, the film within a film that was supposed to represent the utter soullessness of studio filmmaking...looks like Cassavetes or Ozu next to the current cinematic landscape.

    I think it’s hilarious how Obi-Wan was dressed in brown robes appropriate for a desert but then they retroactively decided this was just how all Jedi dressed, which then made it so that Obi Wan was hiding from the Empire but insisted on wearing the Jedi Uniform anyway

    Comes up in the thread, but the core Los Lobos line-up has been together since ‘74, all the more impressing considering they were an unsigned wedding band for much the first decades, aor in the 80s, art rockers in the 90s…their breadth of sound & experience is hard to match.

    So the loss of Dusty Hill has led to an interesting discussion over on FB about who the longest current actively touring/recording pop/rock band of note with an unchanged lineup is. Let's limit this to major/notable bands as well, but salute to any total lifers out there. (1/x)

    Apparently we shouldn't call them jail "jumpsuits" because they are now almost all two pieces. But I hate the common substitute, "jail attire," because it sounds like the dress code for a prison-themed party. I propose "jail scrubs."
