As a Canadian watching this, my mind is blown. Is that what things have come to in SF?

Well you get fired if you intervene. Nobody hurt+guy is on camera. Would you rather read about a dead security guard &hospitalized cashier that lost his job+insurance due to violating company policy? Companies view hero=liability His picture will circulate. It’s 2021, not 1892

That’s part of owning a business. I had store managers that zip-tied every hanger to the rack it was on. It’s also why loss prevention is a whole ass department. They’d rather investigate and prosecute after the fact than risk injury to employees or patrons.

So the community shouldn’t be complaining about food deserts then when all the major grocery stores leave right?

Things like this lead to store cameras, alarm sensors, etc, it’s literally WHY LOSS PREVENTION DEPARTMENTS EXIST. If there were no losses, no LP
Don’t be dumb, nobody wants their cashiers chasing people with mop in hand.
LP has salaried emp. that work w/police on these issues
