It's actually insane to me hearing them talk about socialized healthcare as if it were a bad thing, lol. The american political discourse is so far gone any sanity.

Because Americans who don’t bother researching or talking to people in different countries blindly believe the “horror stories” of socialized health care as if our system isn’t already a nightmare AND expensive

Lol, there are people in this country that think public aid programs that FEED people are a drain on this country when it is fraction of a percentage of what we pay in taxes. People truly want to point their fingers because they can't control the rich. It's infuriating.

When if we actually supported social programs there would be less need for public aid to feed people

It reminds me of when I started earning $$ after college. I could afford to buy larger packages of paper towel, and saved money because of the lower unit price. Instead of taking care of our fellow citizens through preventative measures we'd rather pay out when it's costly.

It's incredibly stupid.

The weirdest thing is that in american politics, all this completely logical and working stuff in other countries is talked about as if it has never worked incredibly well elsewhere. Just completely forgoing any attempt at following reality
