The weirdest thing is that in american politics, all this completely logical and working stuff in other countries is talked about as if it has never worked incredibly well elsewhere. Just completely forgoing any attempt at following reality

It’s because most Americans have never left America (let alone their own state) and basic education is pretty abysmal.

Those same uneducated folks end up having to work multiple jobs just to survive, giving them ZERO time to actually do any research. In a final reach of desperation, these same people blindly believe that the rags to riches American dream is possible via bootstrapping.
