The thing that swung designers over to agile was the idea of an iterative sprint. We don’t have to get everything right first time. Instead we’ll have plenty of time to go back and pull everything together.

And I thinks that’s the rub here. Forcing complex, often existential business problems onto the production team to solve in a two week window, is a recipe for shallow thinking and substandard results.

Dual track that Cagan et al talk about a lot can actually work. The important thing being those in discovery bringing in tech folks to help spike out ideas during discovery and sharing often ideas of where it is going for adaption. This is super hard to get a business to buy into
