Regarding learning (since you've probably seen this behavior before), how do you/KA combat indecisiveness/"second guessing" in students' answer choices?

Ah, as in, if a student knows a fact and uses it to answer a question correctly, but "second-guesses" themselves and chooses an answer that may not be factually backed up because they lack confidence in their knowledge of the fact. It's an awfully specific scenario, sorry!

Hm, interesting. We don't do anything to specifically support the student in that situation, but I think instant feedback does help: we quickly close the loop and help them understand that their instincts actually were apt.

Interesting, do you have any insight as to how "correct" the student's instincts can be/how often it's wrong? I ask because I'm realizing when I don't do well on exams, it's because of this scenario and I figure any insight helps!
