This resonates! I think you're right that this is sort of a subset of what I see as brutalist web design… but almost, like, made more anodyne for a mass audience?

I don’t think it’s related to brutalism. Brutalism is more about repitition and grids to me. These are about being as playful in a grid as allowable. They all share a “zigzag in the grid” concept which relates to me to “up down left right” and “type on a path” trends
