Side note is that songwriters continue to be some of the smartest and most inspiring people I know, even if you’re not a musician. So much to learn from their process.

I find it very cool that they can distill a feeling/idea into a handful of words and notes. It takes so much time and iteration to get right—a careful combination of the right set of variables: key, rhyme, tempo, personal vs. universal, conversational vs. poetic, etc.
