I've dug through CHI and UIST proceedings most years, but I'm struggling to point to answers with big impact likely to be lasting. Maybe the work's too low-frequency to detect on this horizon? I'm admittedly an outsider here—I'd love to be corrected!

cscw also pretty good. i look at trends & zeitgeists as bellwethers since they usually bleed into the authors' pre-degree internships.

Yes CSCW has some great stuff! I was digging into this, and I’m unclear on how much of he field comes from industry. Eg Mechanical Turk itself appears to have been industry, and some of what followed, but then…?
