I learned that "red, yellow, & blue are the primary colors (e.g. for paint)" as a kid. Somehow I didn't notice a conflict with "cyan, magenta, & yellow are the primary colors for printing" until recently.

the albers/itten "schism" i think is why some schools use color-aid swatches for their color studies and others use gouache. even though i "came up with gouache", this ¶ reflects my intro color class' core takeaway despite never talking about Proper color spaces.
