In a video for patrons, points out that he *could* publish books, but feels his work has much wider impact as "blog post" (easily linkable, skimmable, free). Many books are books for economic reasons; "pays for" the use of the blog medium, multiplying impact.

I think writing a book requires a coherent narrative which I feel is hard to maintain in a series of blogposts as things are all over the place. But if the website is so structured to facilitate revealing the inherent story arc, I can see how that shortcoming can be mitigated.
