You could try adding a low pass filter. Useful for gestures even when having high res touch coordinates.

How did you learn that low pass filters are useful for gestures? I kinda know what they are, but I never would've thought of this.

Was building gesture system, and noticed my own touches were somewhat erratic, and it wasn't perf related - the inputs (fingers) were noisy.

Particularly important to filter when e.g. both pinch and rotate are possible, when trying to compute velocities, etc…

Heh, yeah I made mistake one time of using last two samples to compute velocity. End of gestures are especially noisy.

So what I thought was slow swipe, actually ended with a very fast movement, sending things flying across the screen.
