I’ve been vigorously comparing all of the iOS habit/streak tracking apps. Lots of good takes but no one perfect one.

I don’t think there’s a good one. I think the “correct” solution is just to make peace with that and focus on the habit itself. :/

I’ve found a few that work well for how my brain works. Small details that remove friction can make a big difference to me.

Yeah, I hear that. For me, a bludgeon’s what’s needed. e.g. Beeminder has been quite effective, despite its huge surface frictions.

Like: apparently what I need is for the computer to yell at me more and more as I’m about to fail, then to actually penalize me. Heh.
