There is a common thread between the "explicit is better than implicit" and "no abstraction is better than a bad abstraction"

However I've learned that everything has trade offs. I identify strongly with explicitness but I'm giving something up to get it.

I am worried that I haven't worked in a Rails-like environment long enough to know what I'm missing though.
