I honestly disagree. Instant access to information has made rote learning less necessary.

The one significant exception is spreading access to learning materials—that’s real and very important. Yet of course: we can do more.

Yes, tech in schools is mostly a waste. But things like Logo/HyperCard/Scratch can be amazing open-ended tools.
