How much of that silo reduction is due to the need to smear application state through all layers?

Silo reduction comes from enabling the same devs to build for all platforms

I was thinking more of apps/teams that are big enough for devs to specialize in UI, model, etc.

difference is typical framework vs library stuff. DO tries to hide things; r-n gives you tools for building abstractions
