some. My mom is a retired 4th gifted and later 4th grade teacher, and she said place value is a common problem…

I’ve worked with him on it since he was 4. Started naming places in numbers, now we add multidigits without carry

the animation of the missing birds was a bit short. Maybe repeat it a few more times or lengthen it or something?

It was confusing to many kids. If we did this again I suspect we’d take a different approach for that affordance.
