App, are you doing subsurface scattering in realtime? No? Huh.

subsurface scattering is all Gpu driven in memory. No network transfer or file io latency to deal with

Yes, and your app shouldn’t be doing network transfer or other I/O on the main thread in response to scroll events. :)
