I'm sure people are going to get mad about this but: surely eliminative materialism is the only real way forward

I find it hard to make the argument that qualia don't "kick back!" somewhat. Materialism, sure, but eliminative? We'll see...

Not necessarily eliminating qualia, more just that the whole of "folk psychology" seems super wrong

Yeah, for sure. Doesn't rule out reductive materialism! Or us having some crazy "quantum entanglement organ" we can't yet measure!

I would be super sad if reductive materialism were true -- the mind works more or less how we intuitively think it does 🙅
