The only hope for auto layout in Xcode storyboards is if they throw the editor out and start over from scratch.
Which I doubt will happen.

I expect the solution in the near term will be editing live-updating flexbox styling specs. Someday we'll get the GUI. :/

The thing that's really disheartening is that designers know this stuff is important yet they have no way to visualize it.
