I'm interested in the advent of web tech as new x-platform env for desktop apps.
But: Atom can't keep up with my typing. B/c of web tech?

Atom also crashes repeatedly for me with large documents (> 1000 lines). Same cause?

I don't know. It's certainly possible to implement the standard solutions to the problem using web tech.
