FWIW my experiments with Framer in that context have been pretty negative. Have you tried paperjs.org?

Am also interested in how it helps manage assets in Sketch + more generative techniques in code (though it is limited)

Can you expand on what you mean by "more generative techniques"? It seems less generative than all prototypish alternatives.

Ah to clarify: it's worse at generative techniques, but better at handling assets. I want the union of those two sets ;)
