I want to construct the minimal convex hull of some n points such that the hull is a regular polygon of degree n. Math friends, pointers? :)

do you mean minimal n-gon containing the convex hull?

Yes, sorry: minimum-area regular n-gon which circumscribes all the points. (is "regular n-gon" redundant?)
