sorry I didn't get the question well enough.. If you want to circumscribe n points they have to be on the same circumference

After some more thought, I'm pretty sure this isn't actually what you want.

A minimum square bounding an isoceles triangle will suddenly flip 45 degrees as you increase the triangle width.
