I idolize vegans for living on the frontier. Not there yet but chia pudding and tahini-dressed kale & delicata squash salad is a good start.

Although I still eat meat occasionally, having grown up in an immigrant household, I'm a far way from home with my diet.

I worry about becoming a vegetarian as that cuts me off from friends and rituals that I cling to with my solo work lifestyle.

(I say this as a person who eats meat! But guiltily and selectively… :/)

For the 10% of meals I eat non-veggie, 90% of those are poultry. Somehow feel a little less guilty about eating dinosaurs.

Yeah, exactly. Poultry and fish seem significantly less sentient than e.g. goats, which demonstrate lots of curiosity.
