So are KVO and ARC's zeroing weak refs incompatible? Obj gets dealloc, ref is nilled, then removing observer fails, exception raised.

You have to keep an unsafe reference around. c.f. github.com/ReactiveCocoa/

well that defeats the point of moving to ARC :-p. I assume the rationale for zeroing before a dealloc is to be "safer?"
