i mean like i want to be able to compile and deploy to iOS 8, which i assume has a million dependencies

you might need to compile llvm/clang yourself but i don’t see why you couldn’t do this.

and I doubt you'll be able to deploy to a device without a current xcode?

anyway the way I'd look at it is that even if you could get developing for an Apple platform working, u can't trust it

anything that works only works by coincidence and you have no reason to expect it won't all break next update

I get very nervous about becoming dependent on workflows that could suddenly be taken away from me

unfortunately this ALSO makes me feel unsafe developing for anything apple using the supported paths
