i mean like i want to be able to compile and deploy to iOS 8, which i assume has a million dependencies

you might need to compile llvm/clang yourself but i don’t see why you couldn’t do this.

ah, the simulator probably wouldn’t, but if you just wanted to deploy to device that would be easier.

and I doubt you'll be able to deploy to a device without a current xcode?
