All I want for Christmas is swiftc incremental compilation. Turns out: making production software without it is a pretty bad idea. Oops.

Not really, but it sure feels slow when you have to recompile several hundred files every time you change one character.

has anyone at Apple addressed this publicly? I'm sure it's high on the list.

Yeah, they've said on the dev forums that it's one of their highest priorities. Just wish I'd realized before I started.

if it's bad enough, you could make a light-build script that builds _touched_ files and relinks.

Hey, now that's interesting.

definitely, lack of incremental compiling killed writing tests for me on our Swift app. Wasn’t worth the dev time for a v1.

would breaking up your app into modules help with the compile time?

Can't: we target iOS 7. Swift can't be used in static libs; iOS 7 won't run apps with embedded frameworks.
