Wow! You know, having finished the course at Tech with Matlab and now externally w numpy/scipy, I think I'd prefer the latter…

I'd like to know the python packages. I was pretty impressed with Cendri's use of mathworks.com/help/optim/ug/ though.

Yeah, I had to get an external package for that (cvxopt). Interested to hear more about the debugging! Maybe that's new?

new or something one has to realize is there and learn to use. I've used matlab, but not the way Cendri does.

also, a friend of mine from college is one of the primary Julia authors, so kinda want to try that!

haha. Well, I did use it for the Stanford machine learning course. It worked fine, no complaints, but I'm not sophisticated.
