Is it normal to see frame rate drops when opening apps on an iPhone 5s? Never saw that on my 5. Should I return it?

As an iOS dev it kills me. It's mostly the zoom animation but I also see it sometimes when scrolling, swiping etc.

Yeah it's kinda weird.
Are any of the app delegate methods called before the zoom animation completes?

The worst case is with the Yahoo Weather app but I've seen frame rate drops when swiping between home screens too.
