possible to do a fast slide animation followed by nice slow bounce with the animateSpringDamping? Or is keyFrames better?

Hm, I'm not totally sure what you mean by that. Sounds like acceleration wouldn't be smooth in that scenario?

think a 200+ pixel view that slides in from offscreen in .2/.3 secs, using the damping call causes a severe short bounce.

any suggestions on how to keep it a .2/.3 sec slide but have it bounce for .1/.2 secs at the end

I’m not sure aesthetically that it’s possible to make something that looks satisfying with those constraints.
