Is there an API for the iOS 7 blurring effects? A quick search in the API Diffs wasn't succesful.

I’m gonna ask tomorrow at the lab, but it seems there’s nothing :-/

I'm pretty sure I heard it mentioned that it would be in the next beta.

Actually it was a method available in B2 for taking a snapshot of a UIView hierarchy, to be used with a filter.

You can use a CIFilter, sure. We have some Accelerate-based sample code up. See Implementing Engaging UI on Fri.

so there’s no public API for doing this in real time :( I filled rdar://14158344

you know, a lot of the places where it looks like we're doing it in real time, it's static with clever tricks.

the notification center _has_ to be real time. Example, scroll the messages app and slide down the NC.

CAFilter seems like a nice piece of the puzzle ;)

Doesn't get you what you want here, trust me. That's the easy part: getting "what's underneath" as a separate buffer is hard.
