It's surprisingly pleasant to work with these spatially in the 2D canvas.
Unfortunately, there's no concept of "state" in the prototyping tool, so you couldn't really build Myst in it. But a small Figma plugin could add the simple bits of state you'd need.

Interestingly, the original Myst apparently used some simple HyperCard extensions too. I didn't realize it had been extensible, actually!
